Native Birds Nesting
May 2
To the Wildwing Community,
There is a large variety of birds nesting in the natural areas of the community. Please be respectful and keep a safe distance, along with your pets, when walking around these areas.
You may have noticed we have a few Northern Geese nesting around the perimeter and in the middle peninsula of the two ponds north of Wild Shore Drive (west of Colorado Blvd). The Colorado Parks & Wildlife Department has been notified; unfortunately, they do not currently have any signs to post informing individuals that frequent this area to be aware and keep distance.
As the geese are very protective, they have been sitting on the Colorado Boulevard sidewalk daily and often stand on the street. Your courtesy in avoiding them (without causing personal injury to yourself or others) is appreciated. The nesting season should end sometime in May.
Thanks!
