Reminder: Proper Disposal of Dead Animals

Dear Wildwing Metro District Residents,

This is a friendly reminder to please refrain from disposing of dead rabbits or any other animals in the natural open spaces of our community. Proper disposal helps maintain the health and safety of our environment and prevents potential issues with wildlife and pests.  The District's landscapers are not permitted to remove dead animals carcasses which may result in delays in their maintenance work on District property until the carcasses can be removed.

For the proper disposal of deceased animals, please use the following options:

1.  Contact your local animal control for guidance on removal and disposal.

2. Click on the link below to review how the state of Colorado recommends disposal https://ag.colorado.gov/sites/ag/files/documents/Animal-Carcass-Disposal-CDPHE.pdf

Please be aware that rabbits In Larimer County may carry a disease call Tularemia. This can cause illness in humans and animals. Please click here for more information from Larimer County or you can reach out to them by phone at 970-498-6775.   For your pets protection, please do not let them run off leash in the community’s natural open spaces.
Following these guidelines, you help keep our community clean and safe for all residents and wildlife.
Thank you for your cooperation and attention to this matter.
